Meet the Directors
Masooma Foundation is led by a couple who bring together lived experience, professional backgrounds and a shared commitment to improving reproductive, maternal and fetal health outcomes. Their own journey through fertility challenges, high-risk pregnancy, pregnancy loss and stillbirth and navigating pregnancy after loss, shapes a mission rooted in compassion, awareness and support. Together, they ensure that no individual or couple has to navigate the reproductive journey alone.

Dr Alisha Syedain
Co-Founder & Director
Alisha's own journey, the long, uncertain wait for a child, recurrent pregnancy loss, and the loss of two stillborn daughters, sits at the heart of everything she has built. It's what shaped her belief that no one should have to walk this path alone, and what led her, along with Zeeshan, to start Masooma Foundation.
Before this, she spent years in academics, teaching and shaping young minds. By training, she is a development communication professional, an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia's AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, and holds a PhD in Mass Communication. That background in communication, education and storytelling now shapes how she gives voice to experiences so often carried in silence.

Zeeshan Imam
Co-Founder & Director
He stood beside Alisha through years of trying for a child, through recurrent pregnancy loss, and through the loss of their two daughters, and carried a kind of pain that rarely gets spoken about, the grief of a father, a partner, watching and holding on. That silence stayed with him, and it was his idea, born out of it, that gave Masooma Foundation its beginning.
By profession, he works in IT, but the Foundation has become his real work of the heart. He now focuses on building awareness and creating safe, supportive spaces for individuals and couples navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, loss and everything in between, so that partners like him are never left to carry it alone
